Congrats to Ms. Valda Alleyne, Executive Director who recently attained Certified Knowledge Manager from the Knowledge Management Institute (KMI).
The development of a Knowledge Management System (KMS) has been identified as a critical intervention under the Barbados Human Resource Development Strategy. As the Barbados Accreditation Council is a major agency for creating and sharing knowledge, the opportunity was provided by the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Human Resource Development for the Executive Director to participate in a training programme to become a Certified Knowledge Manager. The target group was management level personnel within the Public Service and the facilitator was Mr. Douglas Weidner, Chief CKM Instructor of the Knowledge Management Institute, USA.
It is expected that these trained managers will implement and champion Knowledge Management (KM) initiatives within their respective organizations.
