Getting to Know our Intern, Shania Browne!
In the summer months, when most young people would be having fun in the sun, she instead joined us at the Council! This is 18 year old Shania Browne who returned for two months as a summer intern, where she assisted the Research, Information and Communications department with Marketing, Public Relations and file management. Let’s get to know more about Shania!
Q: What do you like to do for fun?
A: I like to watch documentaries, watching television shows and going to the beach.

Q: Documentaries say a lot about a person. What’s the last documentary you watched?
A: The last documentary I watched was Life on Our Planet on Netflix.
Q: Hobbies?
A: My only hobbies are playing video games & listening to music – Especially Dancehall.
Q: What do you think has had the largest influence on the person you are today?
A: I would say the challenges I had growing up and having to face them all by myself. That caused me to want to fight to be better in my life and come out on top.
Q: Who inspires you most that isn’t famous?
A: My mentor Lisa Gale. I love to see how she carries herself and she always looks out for me no matter the situation.
Q: What are your aspirations?
A: I currently want to recruit into the Barbados Defence Force.
Q: What is it about the BDF that you look forward to?
A: I am currently in the Barbados Youth Service and enjoy it. I love the teamwork and bonding. I cant wait to experience that in the Defence Force.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
A: Within the next ten years I would like to have a top title in the Barbados Defence Force, start to build my own house, be financially stable and do part-time social work.
