CONGRATULATIONS to the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute for being granted Recognition as an Awarding Body by the Barbados Accreditation Council (BAC). The Certificate of Recognition was presented to Mr. Jamaal Roach, President of the CFA Society of Barbados and Mr. Inigo Bengoechea, Director of Government and Regulator Relations, CFA Institute by Ms. Bernadette Callender, Deputy Chairman of the BAC Board of Directors who stated that the Council was pleased that the CFA had attained recognition as an awarding body. Dr. Valda Alleyne, Executive Director of the BAC noted that this presentation shows the commitment by the CFAinstitute to quality assure its qualifications in Barbados and by extension, the rest of the world.
Mr. Jamaal Roach thanked the BAC for their assistance and admitted that it was a long and thorough process, but it is the stepping-stone to achieving global recognition. Mr. Bengoechea, was extremely happy and noted that this is the first accreditation that had received worldwide and it ties into CFA Institute’s mission which is “To lead the investment profession globally by promoting the highest standards of ethics, education, and professional excellence for the ultimate benefit of society.”
